What is the age range for Doktor Kaboom’s shows?
Doktor Kaboom performances are designed to appeal to everyone in the family. While the educational content generally aims at 3rd through 8th grade levels (ages 8-14), our shows regularly have 4 year olds on the edge of their seat, and invested, for the entire hour, as well as teachers, parents, and grandparents laughing hard the entire time. With more than 30 years of experience focused on character-driven comedy, David is able to create moments every show that are tailored to the audience at hand.

Is the show interactive?
Yes, however no one is ever forced or pressured to interact. The crowd is involved throughout the show, and volunteers are chosen for specific routines. When onstage, it is our goal to make all volunteers the hero of the moment, even if they get overwhelmed and ask to sit back down. We never want anyone to feel anything less than success.

Is Doktor Kaboom really German?
The character of Doktor Kaboom is German, the actor, is not, although he does have some German heritage in his family history, along with French and British.

So, it’s a magic show?
No. There is no magic in our shows, we present Science Comedy, not magic. Real science, with real explanations without condescension, mixed with professional comedy for the whole crowd.

Is there only one Doktor Kaboom?
Yes! The one, the only, the original.

Are Doktor Kaboom shows sensory friendly?
Despite the name, there are no actual explosions in the course of our shows. However, the audience does get loud and the Doktor interacts with call and response shouts of “Kaboom!” and “Ja!”. We recommend people with auditory sensitivities bring along ear protection, just in case.

Do you ever come to schools?
While Doktor Kaboom has done a few shows at schools in the past, at this time we are focused on theatres and Performing Arts Centers.

Who is Doktor Kaboom, really?
Doktor Kaboom is the creation of Actor/Comedian David Epley.
